Pink Dogwood

dsc_0028.jpgDogwood (Cornus florida) is a hardy deciduous tress which does well in zone 6. The beautiful pink flowers are a delight. The farm driveway has a dozen of dogwood trees along its drive way with one of the trees with pink flowers. The bees and the flowering dogwood trees reminds me of the country song by Craig Campbell, to quote few lines from “Outskirts of Heaven” –

Lord when I die I wanna live

On the outskirts of Heaven

Where there’s dirt roads for miles

Hay in the fields and fish in the river

Where there’s dogwood trees and honey bees

And blue skies and green grass forever

Lord when I die, I wanna live on the outskirts of Heaven
