Kohlrabi

Kohlrabi belongs to the brassica family and it tastes like a cabbage but slightly sweeter; which can be eaten raw or cooked. The crunch and texture is just like an apple, which makes it an interesting addition to any salad.

Its alternate name is Knol Khol (German Turnip). In Hindi, it is called Ganth Gobhi.

Kohlrabi: Brassica oleracea

Nutritional Benefits:

  1. Rich source of dietary fibers
  2.  Rich source of Vitamin C, A and B Complex
  3. Good source of minerals – Copper, calcium, potassium, manganese, iron, and phosphorus
  4. Good source of phytochemicals – isothiocyanates, sulforaphane, and indole-3-carbinol (may help protect against prostate and colon cancers).
